To All,

On a less legal note, the openss7-0.9.2.D.rc2 release candidate
has been unlocked and made available for public download. The
tarball can now be generally downloaded from

http://www.openss7.org/tarballs/openss7-0.9.2.D.rc2.tar.bz2

See NEWS in the release for updates.

For those not familiar with the openss7 Master Package releases,
the package contains:

streams - Linux Fast-STREAMS
strcompat - STREAMS Compatibility Modules
strxnet - STREAMS XTI/TLI Networking (OpenSS7 not Ole's)
strxns - STREAMS XNS Components
strinet - STREAMS TCP/IP Driver (OpenSS7 not Ole's)
striso - STREAMS ISO/OSI Networking (Alpha)

Other components will be available in the full release planned
before the end of the year, and are currently available to
subscribers and sponsors of the OpenSS7 Project.

This version of Linux Fast-STREAMS runs 10 times faster than
LiS, in 1/10th of the memory footprint, and passes hundreds of
POSIX conformance tests that LiS fails. A full conformance
testsuite and performance test programs are included.

Linux Fast-STREAMS and related packages are distributed under
the GPL Version 2. In general, drivers and modules written to
the "standard" STREAMS interface, being non-derived, do not need
to be concerned about differences between GPL and LGPL and can
be distributed under whatever terms the distributor sees fit.

Anyone wishing to distribute binary copies of publicly released
OpenSS7 packages without GPL restrictions can obtain license to
do so in unlimited quantities in exchange for sponsorship of the
project. For project sponsorship information, send mail to
mailto:***@openss7.com
